Converging Margins at CPW curated by Leah Oates, Is a great collection of work by photographers who make pictures on the margins of Society. I showed some work from my ever building series on graffiti writers:
Manhattan's High Line once served as freight tracks for NYC's booming west side factories. Now being turned into a park, the high school kids I've been shooting for 3 years took me for one last look at this former urban playground. We got chased out twice but still managed to check it out.
Trent took me on a late night adventure! Hounds on the hood, dirt roads, squealing hogs and the adrenaline of running through a pitch dark field at 1am got this boy's heart pumping. The big city isn't the only place that the kids rock out. My stay in Oklahoma made see the rest of America in a totally different way.
Originally in Las Vegas to Spend some time with my Grandfather. I extended my Vegas stay, secured press credentials for CineVegas, and got to see some amazing short films and hang out with some awesome young film makers . Take a look a the art I made during my two week stay in and out of LV.
DYM, a brooklyn based graffiti crew (and old friends) asked me to make some magic happen for them in the studio. I never thought I would take a picture like this in a 100 years. Wait tell you see the poster!
China is Amazing! Never before in my life did I experience so many different types of culture shock. Out in Beijing for the release of Nike's new sports wear line. Me and a select group of American magazine editors had the chance to live it up in China's capitol city. The Nike peeps went home after a couple days and I stayed east with the the crushed linen bros as my guides. The Trip was life changing. I hope you enjoy the photos. I feel like a zine or a poster is in mix for the future.
Many months in the making, my first self publsihed book is finally done! Printed in an edition of 25, I am presently selling them for $25 a piece. I can't remember a time I felt more alive. Ages 12-17 packed an empty Harlem brownstone. Dad said no drinks aloud, the kids rocked out, one passed out, the Cops showed up, and then we hit the subway. Amazing!
